Wes Anderson has worked in many different aspects
of film. He has been a writer, director, and producer and even an actor. Wes
Anderson was the writer, director, and producer of the three films I watched. He
has an incredibly original and unique style that can easily be picked out even
if I was never told that the movie was a Wes Anderson. The films are very
quirky and awkward. They have a certain charm that keeps the viewer entertained
and looking for more. All the films were rather comedic but not outright and in
your face about it. He likes to keep his characters in a family setting. He
uses an obvious formula to his story but it makes it very charming and makes me
wanting to know how Wes will handle the problem. His camera direction is very
sharp. He uses animation to pull absolutely insane camera angles. Wes likes to
separate his movie by chapter. It amazing how developed Wes’ characters are.
While we might not know everything about them Wes most certainly does.
Wes Anderson prefers to write in the slice of
like genre. More specifically the pivotal point in life that make the character
really go out there and make a bold move. The main characters are looking for
something more something greater.
Fantastic Mr. Fox is about a fox going through
his midlife crisis trying to relive his glory days as a hunter. We winds up bringing down his family and entire town when the farmers he stole from work together to try to kill him.
Moonrise Kingdom is a coming of age story of two children and first love. The kids plan to runaway together in the woods and everyone who knows them tries to find them.
